| Shuttlesound
was born in the early eighties as a partnership formed between two young
entrepreneurs. It quickly established itself as a distributor of quality
professional audio products, and has maintained for many years a reputation
for matching the excellence of its products with premium service and support.
The portfolio of brands which the company handles has changed over the
last 20 years, but, from the early days, Shuttlesound became synonymous
with Electro-Voice, the product range which really put Shuttlesound on
the map. Arguably the product that helped launch EV in the UK market was
the revolutionary S200 speaker, a single 12 driver with tweeter
in a lightweight plastic enclosure. A groundbreaking product when launched
in the early nineties, the S200 is still popular and much sought-after
on the second hand market today.
The company has maintained an outstanding reputation throughout the industry
not only for the quality of the products on offer but also for the quality
of service offered by its staff. Some highly respected names in our industry
have cut their teeth as employees of the company and many others all contributed
to the growth of Shuttlesound. The 1990s saw a change for the company
when the founding partners parted company and, shortly after, Shuttlesound
was acquired by Telex Communications, now part of the Bosch Group. The
acquisition bought Shuttlesound into the same fold as such leading brands
as Electro-Voice, Klark
Teknik and Midas. This was a natural progression,
as Shuttlesound already had close links with these brands as their UK
distributor.
Since becoming part of the Bosch Group, Shuttlesound has been able to
concentrate its efforts on what it does best, product distribution and
bringing to market some of the most respected brands in our industry.
